Responding to a Tantrum

If a tantrum occurs, breathe, and take a step back. Listen to your child, be aware of how she is feeling. Think about the underlying cause of the behaviour: ponder the question ‘Why?’

Perhaps keep a tantrum diary for a week, noting down for each tantrum:

♦ outcome after tantrum.
